Census of the Jewish Population of Dayton Ohio 1987

Population Estimates: 2,236 Jewish households.
Sample Notes: In September of 1985, census forms were sent to all of the households listed on the Federation mailing list, 2,210 in total. A repeat mailing was sent in March of 1986. In total, 1,267 census forms were returned. An additional 156 households were included, using the Dayton Jewish Center membership list and the enrollment lists from the Community Hebrew School, Hillel Academy, and the four Synagogue Sunday Schools. In addition, one hundred more households were discovered in the process.
