Population Estimates
Just over 94,300 Jews live in (West) Palm Beach County in 52,900 Jewish households.

  • 74,000 Jews live in Palm Beach County for 8-12 months of the year, while another 21,000 are part-year residents.
  • The total number of people living in West Palm Beach population in Jewish households increased from 9,000 in 1970, to 55,000 in 1980, to 89,000 in 1993, and to 102,000 in 1999.

Sample

Adult Jewish Households in West Palm Beach County, FL - - excluding Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Highland Beach (which are included in separate South Palm Beach County analyses).
Sample Size
1,008 Random Digit Dialed interviews.
Sample Notes
Interviews completed with 1,008 Jewish persons 18 years of age or older in Jewish households in West Palm Beach County, Florida from a RDD (random digit dialing) sampling frame.

A Jewish household was defined as one that contained someone who was born, raised, or is currently Jewish.

The sampling universe excludes the South Palm Beach County communities: Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Highland Beach from the data presented in the reports on West Palm Beach in 1999.

Study Notes
Unweighted sample size is 1,008 interviews (with 541 of the numbers reported to have been on the Federation List).

Weighted N=963 based on an adjustment for the number of telephone lines in interviewed Jewish households using weight factor "wf" - the weighted Ns are 514 on Federation List and 448 not on the list.

Data are not weighted to extrapolate to the estimated number of Jewish households, etc.
